Unfortunately a small group of people make it bad for a whole nation. Anyone who is a true Muslim and follows Islam will let this roll off their back like water from a ducks back. I say this because even if this short 15 minute trailer is offensive to all Muslims, they should believe that the person who made this film will have to answer to Allah himself. The film depicts Mohammed (PBUH) as a philanderer and a pedophile. The filmaker is from Egypt (jew) and he is a criminal with 17 different aliases and has done time in prison for fraud and manufacturing methamphetamine. In America we have the freedom of speech and press even at the cost of touching other peoples lives. It is the choice of Americans who fought for this way of life and should be respected by all other Nations as we respect them. It is not the fault of our government officials that this movie was released no more than it is the fault of every Muslim nation that this small percentage of tyrants are looking to blame and kill someone in the name of Allah.

Salaam to all

Americans typically think they have the right to do whatever they want. If the government lets the people have the right to step on other peoples religions, then they shouldn't be suprised when people from other places react to them. Killing went to far, but the protests were to be expected.

if people walk down the street of america yelling names at people, it's considered a hate crime, yet if they purposly make fun of someones religion and prophet, then it's free speach? I don't know if you saw the video or not, but it is not only making fun of our religion, but also muslims. It's no different then if they made a video calling black people monkeys (which legilly is considered a hate crime)

I can't vote, because I'm not registered, but I think that everyone should have the right of free speech. It is our personal responsiblity to know that other peoples thoughts and feeling (no matter how crude they may be), are not our own. We must be mature enough to step back and say "yes I disagree with you, but you have the right to feel that way." The innocence of Muslims is just one guys opinon about islam. We as muslims really shouldn't let it bother us. I personally think his film was upsetting, but that is no right to turn the middle east upside down (again), for all the wrong reasons.
Hamza: You have to realize that it is not our place to tell an entire country how to run themselves. We don't like when america invades countries and tells them what to do and how to run themselves. Therefore, who are we to act the same way against america? President Obama tends to smile fakely at the middle east, then behind our backs he is still sending drones to kill off muslims. Lets focus on changing that, not sending a wave of protests over americans right to free speech.

I agree each should have the freedom of speech, but in any ways it should not be viewed as publicly a wrong point... A movie is a movie it just portrays real life happenings...

Anyone from any religion gets upset when their religion is portrayed by non-members, even more so if the portrayal is incorrect/degrading. The book of Mormon play is a good example. Mormons are not truly that different from Christians (visit their site lds.org if you doubt this claim is true), but are upset by their portrayal.
