If other Muslims hate us for our corrupt culture, what is the source of that hatred, other than Islam's puritanical teachings?

I am guessing their tradition dictates how they understand and view cultures. You must remember that their culture is very conservative, and not to mention is not wasteful, two things that we are most certainly not.
