The Qur'an, the main spiritual written text of Islam, contains sources to over 50 individuals and activities also discovered in the Holy scriptures. While the experiences informed in each guide are usually similar in most aspects, essential variations sometimes appear. Anything in the Holy scriptures that confirms with the Qur'an is approved, and anything in the Holy scriptures that doesn't agree with the Qur'an is not approved. Many experiences in the Holy scriptures are not described at all in the Qur'an; with respect to such paragraphs, Muslims are directed to neither believe nor disbelieve in them.
