Assalam o Alikum,

Q) is it prohibited in Islam to keep a dog for guarding the house?

Many scholars say that it is not allowed and many agree with keeping it.
I don't remember the exact reference but i know a Hadith where Hazrat
Muhammad S.A.W told not to keep a dog

Hadith...*Don't Pet A Dog Because If You Keep A Dog You Will Be Deprived
 Of One Qatar Blessings*

and once Hazrat Jebrail was late for the meeting with Hazrat Muhammad
S.A.W,and when he asked for the reason, Hazrat Jebrail said
*Angels Don't Go To Houses Where Dogs Are Kept and You Have A Puppy
Under Your Bed*

But in one Hadith Hazrat Muhammad Allowd to keep a dog by saying
* You Can Keep A Dog For Hunting, Cattle Herding And For Lookin gAfter Your Cattle**

SO CAN WE KEEP  A DOG FOR GUARDING THE HOUSE??

please answer this question with Hadith
