Why Muslim countries have lower crime rates than others?

I saw in statistics that all Muslim countries have  lower crime rate than other countries. Is that because of the religion or ethics? or is that because they usually have execution and Sharia style punishments?

I feel it is religion and a real fear of Allah, plus the respect for mankind which comes from practicing true Islam. Most muslims countries do not practice Sharia Law as in the old days, I said "most" as I know some still do. Islam is a way of life so religion is law and law is religion. If fear of punishment stops crime then Ameen. We know that cannot be said for the US.

As for my opinion, its possibly how their government run their country... you know what I mean bout this is once a government is firm and surely people under this government afraid to commit crimes.

It's because they follow rules ...and are afraid of death punishment as I guess... and I do believe that faith believers (ISLAM) dont kill people as Quran states...

I have to agree with you, and for the record it's also because Muslim countries have set rules and the consequences that are equal to their subordinates and so they have to abide unlike any other countries...
