It is the month for not eating and drinking, they do this as an observance of repentance aside from this is a holy day for Islam.

They actually do that as a sign of repentance, But they eat for a certain time and begin abstaining after that time being.

I strongly agree with you anonymous! RAMADAN serves as a turning point on their faith to Allah. Besides, it's not true that they don't eat at all.
